How to Become a Social Worker with a Bachelors Degree in Three Steps!

 

  • Step 1:  Graduate with a Bachelors Degree in Social Work or related field.

In all states it is possible to become a social worker with a bachelors degree in social work from an accredited university. In some states it is possible to become a social worker with a degree in a related field.

  • Step 1:  Graduate with your Social Work Masters Degree or related field

In all states it is possible to become a social worker with masters degree in social work but not all states allow degrees from related fields. A Masters degree qualifies you for all bachelors and high school level jobs in addition to clinical positions. If you wish to practice independently or to earn a license then a masters degree is required.

 How to Become an LCSW or Licensed Social Worker in Five Steps!

The process to become an LCSW or licensed social worker is the same as the process of becoming a social worker with a masters degree, with one added step.

  • Step 1:  Graduate with your Social Work Masters Degree
  • Step 2: Take the the Association of Social Work Board Masters exam

  • Step 4: Find a qualified social work supervisor

  • Step 5: Take the Appropriate Clinical or Generalist ASWB Social Work Exam
