South Carolina LISW-AP and LISW-CP
In South Carolina the two advanced licenses are the Licensed Independent Social Worker Advanced Practice (LISW-AP) and the Licensed Independent Social Worker Clinical Practice (LISW-CP). Both licenses require the Licensed Masters Social Work license to begin supervision (LMSW). Once you have the LMSW you select your focus, either clinical (LISW-CP) or non-clinical (LISW-AP). The qualification for these are listed in the tables below.

LISW-AP
- Masters or Doctorate in Social Work (Including 90 academic hours in advanced social work practice with communities and organizations- Official Transcript is required)
- LMSW
- 3000 hours of post LMSW social work practice over the course of two year minumum and four year maximum period. The supervision must be under a LISW-AP
- 15 academic contact hours or 20 CEU hours training in ethics
- 100 hours of face to face supervision, 50% of the supervision may be in a group
