Oklahoma LSW and LCSW Licensure
In Oklahoma the masters in social work degree license is the Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW). The LMSW is the base license from which to become either a
(1) generalist social worker, which is the Licensed Social Worker (LSW),
(2) clinical social worker, which is the Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW),
(3) or an administrative social worker, which is the Licensed Social Work Administrator (LCSW-admin).
The Oklahoma LMSW requires passing the Masters level ASWB exam, the Oklahoma LSW-admin requires passing the Advanced Generalist ASWB exam, and the LCSW requires passing the Clinical Social Work exam. Each of these licenses require special supervision. This information is summarized in the tables below.
