North Carolina LCSW and LCSWA Licensure

In North Carolina the two clinical licenses are the Licensed clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and the Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSWA).  In order to become an LCSW you must first become an LCSWA and this information is listed in the table below.

North Carolina CMSW and CSWM Licensure

In North Carolina the managerial level license is the Certified Social Work Manager (CSWM).  The CSWM requires passing the Advanced Generalist ASWB exam. The basic masters level certification is the Certified Masters Social Worker (CMSW). The CMSW is little used since it is not required to attain the LCSWP or the LCSW but it can be helpful with billing.  Information is summarized in the table below.
