District of Columbia LISW and LICSW Licensure
In DC the advanced social work non-clinical license is the Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) and the advanced social work clinical license is the Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). In order to become either an LICSW or an LISW you must first become an LIGSW. This information is listed in the table below.
