I graduated from New York University School of Social Work in 1993. I have worked as a clinician and clinical supervisor at Article 31 mental health clinics in the Brooklyn area since graduation. I am a clinically trained social worker with over 20 years of experience working with children, adolescent, and adults. I have a private practice in Park Slope, Brooklyn. As an individual, family, and couples therapist, I use a contemporary psychodynamic approach with the addition of other therapeutic methods; including Dialectic Behavior Therapy and relaxation techniques.
I have years of experience offering individual supervision for social workers who wish to obtain their clinical hours and New York State licensing requirements. As a supervisor, I hope to offer a safe and educational space for my supervise. I strive to help the clinician develop a sense of self reflection and candor, in order to work through therapeutic conundrums and recognize achievements. I offer my supervise further insight and the tools to navigate the natural development of transference that may emerge and prevent a positive, consistent therapeutic alliance with the client. It is a privilege to supervise and provide the venue and tools to support professionals in this care-taking field.
