Mississippi LCSW Licensure with Macro or Clinical Focus

In Mississippi the professional license is the License Certified Social Worker (LCSW). This license can have a macro or clinical focus. For a clinical focus the supervision and work experience needs to be completed in a clinical setting and the ASWB clinical exam passed. To qualify for the LCSW macro the supervision and experience is non-clinical and the ASWB generalist exam is required. In order to become either an LCSW with clinical or generalist focus you must first become an LMSW and this information is listed in the table below.

Mississippi LMSW and LSW Licensure

In Mississippi the masters license is the Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW). Upon graduation from an accredited school with an MSW this license can be attained after completion of the ASWB masters exam. The bachelors social work licenses is the Licensed Social Worker (LSW). Upon graduation with a bachelors degree this license can be applied for through the Mississippi Social Work Board after completing the ASWB bachelors exam.
