Erica M. Avery Claimed

I am a LCSW in the Greater Houston Area. I earned my MSW at Boston College Graduate School of Social Work in 2006. Since graduating I have worked in various settings throughout the Greater Houston Area. I am currently the Director of Therapy Services for a local non-profit agency in Houston where I manage administrative duties as well as clinical issues.  I have received extensive training in Play Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mentalization Based Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Collaborative Problem Solving.  I have experience working with different modalities of therapy from individual and group to multi-generational family therapy. As a bilingual therapist I have had the opportunity to help and empower clients from diverse backgrounds.

As a supervisor I will use a collaborative approach to strenghthen your skills in applying theories, decision making  and case formulation. I will use discussion, case studies and activities to promote critical thinking skills and self awareness.
